SimpleSwap alternatives: no-account swaps, fees and restricted countries
SimpleSwap swaps more than 2,800 coins without an account, with the fee built into the rate rather than shown as a line. People look for an alternative for three reasons: they are in a country its terms restrict, a swap went into Verifying and they want to know how the other services handle that, or they want to compare rates across exchanges before sending. This compares the options, with every fact taken from each service’s own FAQ and terms.
How SimpleSwap works
Most crypto-to-crypto swaps need no account; an optional account unlocks loyalty discounts. The rate is all-in-one, with no separate trading fee shown, and SimpleSwap says fees start from about 0.2% depending on the pair; you pay the deposit network fee yourself. A fixed rate holds for 20 minutes and needs the deposit confirmed inside that window, or the exchange may fail. A floating rate settles at the market when the swap is processed, and if the move is significant SimpleSwap may pause and offer a refund or ask whether to continue. Many swaps finish within minutes; its own rough reference is 1 to 60 minutes. Minimums can be as low as about $0.50.
SimpleSwap may request KYC or more information when it or a partner system flags a transaction as suspicious, or when compliance, AML or institutional requirements apply; the swap then shows Verifying and you contact support. Its terms reserve the right to freeze funds suspected of illegal activity, exclude refunds once a swap is confirming, exchanging, sending or finished, allow network, recovery and provider fees to be deducted from a refund, and give refunds up to 31 calendar days.
Where SimpleSwap may not fit
Its terms of service list the United States and its territories, the EU member states and the United Kingdom among restricted locations, alongside a long list of other countries. If you are in one of them, read the current terms before you rely on it.
A flagged swap means a Verifying status and a support conversation, with identity and source-of-funds documents, and a refund that can take up to 31 days with fees deducted.
The fee is inside the rate, so there is no percentage to check against the quote, and you see one service’s rate only.
The alternatives
StealthEX needs no sign-up and says verification is needed only in rare cases, when a wallet is blacklisted by its liquidity providers or a transaction looks suspicious. All fees are included in the estimate shown before you decide: the network fee plus the liquidity provider’s trading fee, which varies by pair. It lists 2,000-plus assets, says exchanges take 5 to 30 minutes, and if the rate moves more than 5% the exchange fails and you agree a new rate or a refund with support.
Exolix has run since 2018 with no registration and no maximum limits. It fixes the rate at the start, so the amount you see is the amount you receive, and says it charges no fees on top of that fixed amount; a floating option is offered too. About 500 coins are listed and processing usually takes 5 to 30 minutes. Its terms say that if the funds you send are flagged as suspicious it may ask you to verify their source, and if you refuse it is not responsible for a refund or for completing the swap.
Vaultion’s swap is an aggregator front end over the exchanges Trocador routes to. One request returns their floating and fixed rates with a KYC rating for each exchange, built from its terms, its refund handling on verification refusal and its history, so you choose privacy against price before sending. No account, coins sent to your own address, major coins and stablecoins only. The exchange you pick holds the funds during the swap, not Vaultion and not Trocador, and it can still halt the swap under its own policy; D-rated exchanges are outside the Trocador Guarantee.
Which to use
A long-tail coin and a location SimpleSwap serves: SimpleSwap. A rare-case KYC policy and a 5% deviation rule you can plan around: StealthEX. A fixed amount with no top-up fee and no maximum: Exolix. A rate comparison with each exchange’s KYC stance shown first, on the main coins: the aggregator route. In every case the exchange holds your coins for the minutes the swap takes, so send from and to wallets you control.
See it for yourself
Vaultion runs on a published, open-source contract that holds the funds — not Vaultion. You can read it and the locked balance on the block explorer before you send anything.
