ChangeNOW alternatives: crypto swaps without an account
ChangeNOW has run since 2017 and swaps more than 1,000 coins without an account, usually in about a minute. The reason people go looking for an alternative is almost always the same one: a swap was flagged by its risk system and a Verify button appeared where the coins should have been. The other reasons are wanting a fee you can see as a number, and wanting to compare more than one exchange’s rate before sending. Here is how the alternatives compare, with each service’s facts from its own pages.
How ChangeNOW works
No account: pick a pair, send the deposit, receive at your address. Fees are built into the rate you are shown, which ChangeNOW describes as no hidden fees, and it quotes both floating rates, which can move before your deposit confirms, and fixed rates, which hold the rate you were shown. It supports 1,000-plus coins across 110-plus blockchains, states an average exchange time of about a minute, and takes minimums under $2.
Every transaction passes an automated risk check. A flagged swap shows a Verify button into ChangeNOW’s KYC provider, where you may be asked for identity, proof of address, source of funds and transaction history. You have three days; if you decline, the deposit is refunded minus network fees. Funds linked to illicit activity or an investigation are not released.
Where ChangeNOW may not fit
The fee is inside the rate, so you cannot check a percentage against the quote the way you can with a published fee.
A flag means a three-day verification window or a refund; there is no way to see beforehand how often that happens.
You see ChangeNOW’s rate only. On a given pair another exchange may be quoting better that minute.
The alternatives
SideShift also needs no account and builds its fees into the rate. A fixed-rate shift locks for 15 minutes and a variable-rate shift prices at deposit with a seven-day window; 42 blockchains and 200-plus coins are supported. Rejected shifts go to human review. It serves 46 US states through SideShift.us since June 2026, excluding Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts and New York.
FixedFloat publishes its fees: 0.5% plus network fee for a float order, 1% plus network fee for a fixed one, with no registration. Its terms allow an order to be suspended for a source-of-funds check, and in some cases an identity check, with refunds only to the sending address after that review.
Vaultion’s swap is an aggregator front end over Trocador’s partner exchanges. One request returns their floating and fixed rates together with a KYC rating for each exchange, drawn from its terms, its refund handling on verification refusal and its history, so you can weigh privacy against price before sending. No account; coins go to your own address; the major coins and stablecoins only. During the swap the exchange you chose holds the funds, not Vaultion and not Trocador, and it can still halt the swap under its own policy. D-rated exchanges are outside the Trocador Guarantee.
Which to use
A long-tail coin or a very small amount: ChangeNOW. A fee you can verify as a number: FixedFloat. One venue with a US-facing product: SideShift. A rate comparison with each exchange’s KYC stance shown first, on the main coins: the aggregator route. Whichever you choose, never send funds that came through a mixer; every service above treats that as high risk.
See it for yourself
Vaultion runs on a published, open-source contract that holds the funds — not Vaultion. You can read it and the locked balance on the block explorer before you send anything.
Frequently asked
Does ChangeNOW require KYC?
Not to start a swap. Its automated risk system can flag a transaction, after which you get a Verify button and three days to pass identity, address and source-of-funds checks, or decline and be refunded minus network fees.
What are ChangeNOW’s fees?
ChangeNOW says all fees are included in the rate you see, with no extra charges. It does not publish a percentage; the cost is the difference between its rate and the market.
How long does a ChangeNOW swap take?
ChangeNOW states the average exchange takes about a minute after your deposit confirms. A flagged swap takes as long as the verification does.
Which alternative shows the KYC policy before I send?
An aggregator such as Trocador, which Vaultion’s swap is built on, shows a KYC rating for each exchange next to its quote. The exchange can still ask for verification; the rating tells you how likely that is and how it handles refunds.
Compare the exchanges before you send
Vaultion’s swap quotes BTC, XMR, ETH, SOL and stablecoins across Trocador’s partner exchanges, with each one’s KYC rating shown first. No account, sent to your own address.
