What is Trocador? How the swap aggregator works, and how to use it
Trocador.app is an aggregator for instant crypto swaps. You tell it what you are sending and what you want back, it asks its partner exchanges for quotes, and it shows them side by side with a privacy rating for each, so you can pick the exchange yourself and swap directly with it. It is the engine behind the swap on Vaultion. This is a plain explanation of what Trocador does, what it does not do, how its KYC rating and guarantee work, and how to use it, with every fact taken from Trocador’s own pages.
What Trocador is
Trocador describes itself as software that lets users choose between exchanges and trade directly with them. When you fill in a swap, it searches the best rates at its partner exchanges and you pick the one you want; you then send your coins to the address that exchange provides, the exchange makes the trade, and you receive the other coin at the address you gave. There is no account to open at a centralized exchange and no account at Trocador.
The line that matters most is its own: Trocador never has access to, receives or transfers any of the funds between the parties. It also monitors its exchanges for rate reliability, delays and maintenance, and says it will step in with the exchange if you hit a problem.
What the privacy rating means
Each partner exchange has its own policy, and Trocador says any of them may halt your transaction and demand KYC or AML verification before completing it. All of its partners do due diligence on the funds they receive, and Trocador explicitly warns users not to send funds with high AML risk, from mixers or from illegal activity, because those orders will be refused.
To help you choose, Trocador gives each exchange a rating. It says it builds that rating by reading the exchange’s terms of use and privacy policy, asking the exchange how it refunds when a user refuses verification, and taking its history on Trocador into account. Your chosen exchange may store your transaction details, and some require Trocador to keep logs of IP, user agent and language, which Trocador says it shows you before you create the transaction and never sells.
The Trocador Guarantee
If you do not receive your funds and the exchange cannot show Trocador sufficient proof of unusually high AML risk, or that the trade was blocked by its liquidity provider’s AML system, Trocador says it will reimburse you up to an insured amount that varies by exchange; you can see it by hovering or clicking the shield next to each quote. Two exclusions are stated: trades with exchanges rated D are not covered, and trades blocked for high AML risk or funds from mixers are not covered either. To claim, you contact Trocador by email or Telegram with your transaction ID.
Floating or fixed, standard or payment
A floating rate is an estimate: when the exchange confirms your deposit it checks the market and settles at a new rate, and if that is far from the estimate some exchanges ask whether to proceed or refund. Trocador recommends floating for most swaps where you know the amount you are sending, because the rates are better. A fixed rate locks the amount you will receive, which suits paying an invoice, though if the market moves a lot the exchange may still refund rather than proceed.
Standard mode is a normal swap: you set the amount to send. Payment mode is for paying someone: you set the amount to be received and which coin you will pay with, and Trocador shows fixed quotes from the exchanges that support it. There is also a buy-and-sell tab for fiat, with fewer coins.
How Vaultion’s swap uses Trocador
The swap on Vaultion is a front end on Trocador: it sends your request to Trocador, shows the quotes Trocador returns with each exchange’s KYC rating, and sends you to the deposit address of the exchange you pick. The coin list is kept to the ones people actually move between, BTC, XMR, ETH, SOL, LTC, DOGE, TRX, XRP and the major stablecoins, and there is no account. During the swap the exchange you chose holds the coins, not Vaultion and not Trocador, and they arrive at the address you entered. Vaultion earns a referral share from the exchange on completed swaps. If a swap sticks, the Trade ID shown on the page is the Trocador ID, and you track or recover it with Trocador support.
Being honest about the trade-off: an aggregator shows you more quotes and a rating before you commit, but the swap itself is still custodial for the minutes it takes, and the exchange’s own policy still applies. If you want funds held until a deal completes, that is escrow, a different product.
See it for yourself
Vaultion runs on a published, open-source contract that holds the funds — not Vaultion. You can read it and the locked balance on the block explorer before you send anything.
Frequently asked
Is Trocador an exchange?
No. Trocador is an aggregator: it fetches quotes from partner exchanges and you swap directly with the one you choose. Trocador says it never has access to, receives or transfers any of the funds.
Does Trocador require KYC?
Trocador itself has no account and no KYC. Each partner exchange has its own policy and may halt a swap and ask for verification; Trocador rates every exchange so you can see that risk before you send.
What does the Trocador Guarantee cover?
If your funds do not arrive and the exchange cannot show sufficient proof of high AML risk or an AML block by its liquidity provider, Trocador reimburses up to an insured amount that varies by exchange. Trades with D-rated exchanges, and trades blocked for high AML risk or mixer-origin funds, are not covered.
Is Vaultion’s swap the same as Trocador?
It runs on Trocador: same partner exchanges, same quotes, same KYC ratings, with a shorter coin list and no account. Vaultion earns a referral share from the exchange on completed swaps; the exchange you choose holds the coins during the swap.
Swap through Trocador’s exchanges without an account
Vaultion’s swap shows the Trocador quotes for BTC, XMR, ETH, SOL and stablecoins with each exchange’s KYC rating first. Pick one, send, receive at your own address.
